Good-bye to an old friend

Our 2012 Prius V Model 3 rode off into the sunset after 15 years of faithful service. With a lot of TLC over 15 years and with only oil changes, one set of new brakes and several new sets of tires it went over 223,000 miles with only the plugs and coils changed at 200K. It will find a new life with a new owner installing a new engine that finally said it had enough. They don't make them like this anymore. Regardless what they say about the Prius V issues this one was a champ and will be missed. - 5.0

Bought the 2012 Toyota Prius V used in 2018 used with 29,000 miles trading my in very good shape160K mile 2008 Prius for it. Have done all my own oil & transmission fluid changes with 8K oil & trany changes at 90K & 150K. Coolant change once at 125K. Now has 165K, uses no oil in between changes, runs & drives same as the day I bought it. Changed headlights to LED. Everything works 100% & has cost me zero dollars in repairs. Driving conservatively it averages 45 MPG at 55 MPH. Took the back seats out & built a bed frame for sleeping. When my 02 Ford E-150 breaks down I stuff the Prius with HVAC equipment until the van gets fixed. Was cheap to buy (used), cheap to insure, GREAT MPG, doesn't break down, & is still running great as a 14 year old vehicle. Too bad they're not making it anymore.
